This Yellow Doughnut Cake was practice in my pursuit of making awesome drippy cakes.
I hope everyone is or had a lovely July 4th!
I didn’t come up with a specific Independence Day post, but I could find no eloquent way to link today’s holiday with this cake.
I still have a ways to go, but I feel like I have definitely mastered the drips. Using a pastry bag to pipe each drip really gives me the control and ability to visually balance the cake. Before I used a pastry bag I was simply letting the ganache pour down the sides of the cake on its own accord. You can see a difference from the cakes I’ve made. The Snickers Chocolate Layer Cake and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake are done with the free-flowing ganache method. This Yellow Doughnut Cake shows a discernible improvement.
